After successfully leading the design process for IPCRG’s website, I was trusted to manage the print design work for a magazine to educate patients living with COPD. Due to the audience (COPD patients) age skewing older, a significant focus of the project was on design accessibility and readability. I worked with the team to understand the audience specifics such as the need to format for readability on tablets and iPads, large text sizes, and a layout that leads the user in the intended direction. As a tablet was the expected primary method for reading the magazine, I designed the entire project with a digital focus, capitalising on interactivity throughout while also including URL links to provide users with an option to print the document themselves if that is their desired reading method.
